Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance today arrested Kandarpa Pradhan, Additional Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation Circle, KBK, Bhawanipatna for possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 75% of known sources of income, said an official press release.
Pradhan was arrested and forwarded to court as he could not account for satisfactorily for possession of disproportionate assets, the release added.
Following allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income against Pradhan, the anti-graft agency launched simultaneous house searches on his properties at eight places in Khordha, Angul and Kalahandi districts.
Pradhan was found in possession of 3 flats in Bhubaneswar, 2 buildings in Angul, 5 plots in and around Angul town, 2 four-wheelers, 1 two-wheeler, 530 gm gold, etc, the release stated.
According to the release, Pradhan’s income and expenditure were calculated and he was found to be in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 75% of his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress, the release added.
