Jharsuguda: Daughter of slain Minister Naba Kisore Das, Deepali Das today urged senior Congress MLA Narasingha Mishra to refrain from ‘speculations’ pertaining to the murder of her father.
Amid the ongoing investigation into the case, the senior Congress legislator from Bolangir today hinted at a possible personal enmity behind the Health Minister’s murder.
“I have known the senior Congress leader since my childhood and understand that my father used to respect him a lot. Both of them have also worked together for a long time,” said Deepali.
She added, “It is barely 38 days since he left us all. At this moment of grief for me and my family, these kind of remarks, casting aspersions on the character of my father, is uncalled for and unethical.”
Earlier in the day, Mishra, the Congress Legislature Party leader in the Odisha Assembly said that he was informed by sources about the accused Gopal Das approaching Naba Das for a job for his niece.
“Something might have transpired during those meetings. Things will become clear if Gopal’s niece is questioned,” he said and raised suspicion about the family hatching a plan to eliminate the minister.
“It was also evident from Gopal’s actions and behaviour that they were relieved once it was carried out successfully. Why did then Gopal’s elder brother close shop and move back to Berhampur just before the incident?” he questioned.
