Bhubaneswar: VK Pandian, Secretary to CM (5T) who is on a two-day visit to Sundergarh district, on Sunday reviewed various developmental works at Rajgangpur, Hemagari, Balisankara and Tangerpali blocks.
The Secretary, 5T, began his second-day visit after offering prayers at the Shiva Temple at Ghoghar in Rajgangpur Block, where he interacted with the servitors and other stakeholders. He invited suggestions from them on various aspects to transform the temple and asked the authorities to take steps for the development of the periphery of the temple premises including, making provision for parking space near the temple.
Pandian also instructed them to prepare a comprehensive development plan as per the demand of the people, including the construction of a boundary wall, bridge and restoration of old Dharmasala.
Subsequently, the Secretary, 5T, visited the Community Health Centre, Rajgangpur, which was taken under the Ama Hospital Yojana for transformation. He interacted with the doctors and staff of the hospital as well as the visiting patients. He then visited the ongoing development works at the CHC and asked the authorities there to expedite the ongoing work for timely completion.
He proceeded to the Railway Overbridge at Rajgangpur and reviewed the progress of construction work and asked the authorities to expedite the land acquisition process by removing the bottlenecks and having proper coordination among all stakeholders.
Pandian then visited the Shiva Temple in Belsara under Tangarpali block and interacted with the servitors and other stakeholders there. He took feedback on the development of amenities for devotees on the temple premises. He asked the authorities to create a comprehensive development plan involving the renovation of the temple, the construction of a children’s park, boundary wall, gateway and staircase, and the merger of five ponds to create a water reservoir, boating facility and a ropeway connecting two hills.
The Secretary, 5T, visited the Mission Shakti Café at Hemgiri and interacted with the members of the Mission Shakti Group.
He then proceeded to the Panchayat Samiti Junior College, Hemgiri and interacted with the students, principal and lecturers and asked the college authorities to create a comprehensive development plan with a special focus on smart classrooms, libraries etc.
The Secretary, 5T then inspected the beautification work of the Kanika Kata Tank at Hemgir. He advised the authorities for an overall holistic development plan bearing in mind the three broader components, namely the development of a rural park with all amenities, beautification of water body, plantation and landscaping.
The Secretary, 5T, then visited the Kukuda Nallah Dam at Deobhubanpur, Balisankara, and interacted with the beneficiaries. He asked the authorities there to formulate an effective plan for its renovation so that its full potential is utilised.
He then visited the Government SSD Girls’ High School, Tileikani, Balisankara, interacted with the teachers and staff and asked the authorities to ensure adequate staff and manpower at the school at the earliest. He also inspected the educational infrastructure available at the school and advised the authorities to maintain the quality of the entire infrastructure.
The secretary, 5T, visited the Samlei Temple in Sundargarh and interacted with servitors and other stakeholders. Pandian invited suggestions from them on various aspects of transforming the temple. He asked the authorities to take steps for the development and beautification of the river bank.
During his visit to the Government Women’s College, Sundargarh, Pandian held discussions with the principal, lecturers and staff on various issues and asked them to take immediate steps for the provision of smart classes, e-library and laboratory.
He also visited Gurlijore Nallah MIP, Sundargarh and enquired about the purpose and benefits of the project. He asked the concerned authorities to take immediate steps for the repair, renovation and restoration of the canal and dam for better irrigation facility.
At the Parijat Park in Sundargarh, Pandian reviewed the availability of different amenities and leisurely activities there. He asked the district authority to prepare a master plan and DPR for further development of the park at the earliest.
At the end of his tour, Pandian met the hostel inmates and coaches of the District Sports Hostel in Sundargarh and interacted with them.
