Bhubaneswar: Two poachers were arrested on Tuesday for allegedly possessing porcupine meat. The arrests were made by Forest personnel in the Jilinda range under the Satkosia wildlife division in Odisha’s Angul district.
The accused have been identified as Ajay Behera and Anand Sahu.
According to reports, the accused were detained by the Jilinda Forest personnel when they were returning from the forest after killing a porcupine with a country-made rifle.
The officials seized two kg of porcupine meat, a country-made rifle and other incriminating materials from their possession.
The accused have been taken to the range office for further interrogation, officials said.
