Summer Heat To Return As Day Temp To Rise By 4-6°C In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The regional center of India Meteorological Centre here on Sunday forecast rain and thunderstorm in Odisha till the morning of April 7. At the same time, the state will witness a gradual rise in day temperature of 4°C-6°C during the next three days.

The weather office has issued a yellow warning for a thunderstorm accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rain at some places in Koraput, Cuttack, Khurda, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Nuapada, Balangir, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Angul, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and Keonjhar districts till Sunday evening.

People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain/thunderstorm occurred in most places over the districts of coastal and interior Odisha with heavy rainfall in one place over the Ganjam district.

The chief amount of rainfall recorded in different districts is Gopalpur (Ganjam) 11 cm, Rangeilunda (Ganjam) 8 cm, Chhatrapur (Ganjam) 6 cm, Tangi (Khurda) 5 cm, Kotpad (Koraput) 5 cm, Nischintakoili (Cuttack) 4 cm, Balipatna (Khurda) 4 cm, Digapahandi (Ganjam) 4 cm, R Guda (Rayagada) 4 cm, Derabis (Kendrapara) 4 cm, Kujanga (Jagatsinghpur) 3 cm, Nuagada (Gajapati) 3 cm, Biridi (Jagatsinghpur) 3 cm, Marsaghai (Kendrapara) 3 cm, Kendrapara (Kendrapara) 3 cm, Bandhugaon (Koraput) 3 cm, Tirtol (Jagatsinghpur) 3 cm, Nawarangpur Pto (Nawarangpur) 3 cm, Kolnara ( Rayagada) 3 cm, Tigiria (Cuttack) 3 cm, R.udaigiri ( Gajapati) 3 cm, Gumma ( Gajapati) 3 cm, Mahanga (Cuttack) 3 cm, Paradeep Cwr (Jagatsinghpur) 3 cm, and Salepur (Cuttack) 3 cm.

The highest maximum temperature of 37.0°C was recorded at Malkangiri and the lowest minimum temperature of 17.5°C was recorded at Boudh in the plains of Odisha.
