Balasore: A 44-year-old man was suspected to have been killed by jackals in Kumarpur village under Basudevpur police limits in Bhadrak district.
The deceased has been identified as Sarat Sahoo of Kumarpur village.
According to reports, Sarat on Monday night had gone to a pond near his house to catch fish with his fishing rod. However, he did not return to his home at night.
Today morning when fellow villagers had gone to the pond for a wash, they saw Sarat’s mutilated body lying there.
Villagers saw that jackals had eaten away the flesh from Sarat’s both legs.
On being informed police have launched an investigation into the matter.
