Dhenkanal: The body of full grown female elephant in Babandha village of Hindol sub division of the district today evening. According to reports, aging is suspected to be the cause behind the jumbo’s death, prima facie investigation revealed. Autopsy will reveal the actual reason for the incident.
People of Babandha village said that the same elephant, aged about 30 years was seen loitering around the area with a two-year-old calf. It appeared that the elephant was separated from its group. On the other hand, the forest personnel have launched a search for the calf.
