Malkangiri: A constable working with Armed Police Reserve (APR) was found hanging at MV-42 village in the Sadar sub-division of Odisha’s Malkangiri district.
The deceased constable has been identified as Sushant Haldar, a resident of MV-42 village.
According to reports, locals spotted the constable’s body hanging from a banyan tree near MV-42 village this morning and informed the police. Soon, a team from the Model Police station reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
Although the exact reason why the constable took such an extreme step is yet to be ascertained, the police recovered a few hand-written suicide notes from the trouser pockets of the deceased when they took down the body in the presence of his family members.
Sources said that constable Sushant Haldar’s native was in Umerkot in the Nabarangpur district of Odisha. However, he has been living in Malkangiri MV 42 village since his marriage as his house was destroyed.
