Balasore: In an alleged case of medical negligence, a doctor left a patient halfway through the operation and fled. Tension prevailed on the premises of this private nursing home following the incident.
According to reports, one Ranjan Biswal of Ambua village under Sadar police limits brought his wife to a nursing home for an ailment. The doctor on duty advised for surgery and Biswal agreed.
But while performing the surgery on Biswal’s wife, the doctor foound multiple complications and said that further operation will be done at Cuttack, Biswal said. “He stitched the cuts and fled from the place,” he added.
The family was in utter dismay and have threatened to file a police complaint. However, owing to the complications, Biswal was advised by the nursing home staff that he has to seek medical advice elsewhere.
