Bhubaneswar: Days of heat wave are back in Odisha as the capital city Bhubaneswar recorded 31°C as early as 8:30 am on Monday. According to the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here, this was the highest maximum temperature recorded in the morning in the city this season.
The temperature in Bhubaneswar was 37.2°C around noon today. As a result, roads wore a deserted look.
According to the IMD, the increase in day temperature is due to the influence of dry-hot air from the northwest with reduced seasonal influence over the state. During the next 2 to 3 days, there is a possibility of an increase of 2°C to 3°C in the day temperature in some places in the state.
Normal life was disturbed due to the sudden increase in the maximum temperature as students and officer goers faced inconvenience.
In many schools, morning classes began on Monday but students, as well as parents, have said that if the scorching heat and humid conditions persist children will face many difficulties when returning home around 11:30 am.
