Malkangiri: A girl student of ITI at Malkanagiri, Budri Kirsani will participate in the IPICOL-sponsored programme to Dubai in May. The Skill Development and Technical Education Department has selected five students from Odisha for the program.
The other four students selected are from Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Rourkela, and Berhampur. Kirsani is a student of Malkangari Government ITI.
After receiving her primary education at Kadamguda School in Dantipada village of Bandaghati, Khairput Block, Kirsani studied 10th at MV-27 village, Government High School.
She lost her parents at an early age but remained undeterred and always loved to study. Four of her siblings also demonstrated a commitment towards Kirsani’s love for education.
Later, she enrolled in the electronics trade at the local ITI.
Her siblings encouraged Kirsani to study, and do other works with farming. According to her, it is through the efforts and wishes of her family and teachers, she has come this far.
Rozina Das, Joint Secretary of, the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, has written a letter to the Regional Passport Officer to prepare Kirsani’s passport under the Tatkal scheme.
Other students who are selected to go to Dubai with the Bonda girl are Balaram Rout of Jajpur Government Polytechnic, Bhagyasmita Prusty of Mayurbhanj Government Polytechnic, Himanshu Shekhar Sahu of Rourkela Government ITI, Apsa Queen Behera of Berhampur ITI.
IPICOL, under the Department of Industry, has organized this program to offer a chance for bright students to learn advanced technologies. They will go to Dubai today (April 15) and return on May 22.
