Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Sunil Kumar Bansal today visited violence-hit Sambalpur city and reviewed the law and order situation with senior officials.
“Stern action will be taken against the persons involved in the violence in Sambalpur. Several platoons of police force have been deployed in the city. The situation will improve within a day or two,” said the DGP after a meeting with the IGP.
The DGP on reaching Sambalpur from Bhubaneswar in a helicopter at around 4 pm today headed towards the office of IGP (Northern Range) Deepak Kumar in Sambalpur.
ADG (Law and Order) RK Sharma and ADG (Intelligence) Sanjeev Panda accompanied Bansal during the visit.
