22 Stations In Odisha Record Day Temperature Above 40°C, Jharsuguda Hottest At 43°C

Bhubaneswar: The maximum (day) temperature at 22 stations in Odisha Sunday was 40°C and above, making life miserable for the inhabitants.

Jharsuuguda was the hottest place in the state today at 43°C, while Boudh, Sambalpur and Talcher recorded 42.5°C, 42.4°C and 42.2°C respectively. Sundargarh (41.5°C), Titlagarh (41.5°C), Malkangiri (41.2°C), Bolangir (41.2°C), Angul (41.1°C) and Rourkela (41°C) are the other places in the state that recorded day temperatures above 40°C followed by Hirakund (40.8), Bargarh (40.7), Bhawaanipatna (40.5), Sonepur (40.4), Paralakhemundi (40.2), Deogarh (40.1°C), Bhubaneswar (40°C), Cuttack (40°C), Nayagarh (40°C), Jajpur (40°C), Dhenkanal (40°C) and Kendrapada (40°C).

While the day temperatures at other stations in the state were between 36.4°C and 39.5°C, Paradip was relatively less hot at 33.5°C.

Meanwhile, the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has forecast that there will be a slight dip in the temperature during the next few days. The weather office has further issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty winds and light to moderate rain in several places in Odisha during the next seven days.
