Jharsuguda: A total of nine candidates remained in the fray for the bypoll to the Jharsuguda Assembly constituency scheduled to be held on May 10.
“Today was the last date for withdrawal of nominations for the Jharsuguda bypoll. There were 10 candidates in the fray after scrutiny of nominations. An Independent candidate Bhubaneswar Gardia withdrew his nomination today. With this, nine candidates remain in the fray for the bypoll,” informed Jharsuguda Sub Collector Kishore Chandra Swain.
The candidates who will be trying their luck in the bypoll are Tankadhar Tripathy of BJP, Tarun Pandey of Congress, Dipali Das of BJD, Janma Rohidas of Odisha Pragati Dal, Manish Sharma of Odisha Janata Dal, Mahindra Patnaik of Kalinga Sena, Independent candidates- Bijay Kumar Jalan, Mahendra Luha, and Gyanendra Behera.
