Puri: The battery of an electric vehicle (EV) exploded while it was on charging, at Kathuaredi village under Bhramhagiri police limits on Friday night.
The family of Jitendra Jena escaped narrowly in the mishap, however, the room where the battery was being charged, was charred.
Jena, his wife, and two daughters ran out for their lives and managed to save themselves. According to reports, the blast took place when the family was sleeping at around 1 am.
