Angul: In a gruesome incident, a minor girl was hacked to death at around 10:00 am on Monday in Kuio village, a suburb of Angul city in Odisha.
The deceased was identified as Khushi Sahu (12), daughter of Bhagirathi Sahu.
The family has been residing in Kuio village, while they hailed from Talcher Danara.
According to reports, the minor girl was at home with her mother this morning. Suddenly, a young man broke into their house and hit her mother. Later, he slit the minor’s throat with a sharp weapon.
Neighbours and family members rushed the minor to the district head hospital (DHH) but doctors declared her brought dead.
While the actual reason for the murder is unclear, the crime is suspected to be a fallout of one-sided love.
Sadar police have started an investigation into the incident.
