Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Nayagarh, Khordha, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in its midday weather bulletin issued today.
The IMD has said that thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj during the next 24 hours and has issued a ‘Yellow Alert’ for these districts.
In its forecast for Bhubaneswar and its neighborhood for the next 24 hours, the IMD has said that the sky will remain partly cloudy with the possibility of the development of thunder/lightning. Maximum and Minimum temperatures are very likely to be around 39°C and 27°C respectively, it added.
The weather agency has said that there shall be no large change in Maximum temperature (Day temperature) during the next 4-5 days over the districts of Odisha.
Maximum temperature is very likely to be 40°C or more at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the next 3-4 days. Hot and discomfort weather at a few places over the districts of Odisha during the next 3-4 days. People are advised to take precautionary measures while going outside, it added.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Koraput, Rayagada, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.05.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.05.2023)
Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj and dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest districts of Odisha.
(Day 1 to Day 5): No warning for fishermen for Odisha coast.
However, warning for fishermen for deep sea area of Southeast Bay of Bengal adjoining Andaman Sea and central Bay of Bengal as follows:
Under the influence of the above system, Squally wind speed reaching 45-55 kmph gusting to 65 kmph prevails over Southeast Bay of Bengal adjoining Andaman Sea and wind speed will gradually increase and become Gale winds over Southeast and central Bay Bengal during the 10th to 13th May.
Gale wind speed will be becoming 130-140 kmph gusting to 150 kmph over East central Bay of Bengal during 12th& 13th May.
Sea condition will prevail rough to very rough southeast adjoining central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea on 9th May, becoming high to very high on 10 & 11th May over central and Southeast Bay of Bengal and very high to phenomenal during 12th & 13th May over East central Bay. Fishermen, small ships, boats and trawlers are advised not to venture into southeast and central Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea from 9th May onwards.
