Some Places In Odisha May Experience Intense Heat Wave Conditions From Monday

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave conditions are likely to worsen in several districts of Odisha from Monday, the regional office of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) here forecasted on Sunday.

According to the IMD, under the influence of dry westerly/northwesterly winds and high solar insolation, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to rise by 3°C to 5°C during the next two days at many places in Odisha. As a result, heat wave condition is likely in some districts of interior Odisha from May 15 and the maximum temperature (day temperature) is likely to be more than 40°C and above normal by 3°C to 5°C at a few places of the state.

The IMD has advised people to take precautionary measures while going outside during the daytime between 11.00 am and 3.00 pm.

Heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places in the Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, and Sonepur districts of Odisha on May 15. On the following day (May 16), heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh, Boudh, and Bolangir.

On May 17, heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at a few places in the Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Boudh, and Bolangir districts of Odisha.
