Keonjhar: The body of a constable was found hanging from a tree near his house in Hathinota village under the Ghatgaon block of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Saturday morning.
The deceased was identified as Premanand Naik, a constable of Odisha Police serving in the Bhadrak district.
Premanand is survived by his wife and a 5-year-old son and a 2-year-old daughter. He married about five years ago.
On being informed, police reached the village and sent the body for post-mortem. They have also started an investigation into the matter.
While preliminary investigation suggests that the constable committed suicide, the actual reason for his death is yet to be ascertained.
