Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police will soon deploy drones to keep constant surveillance on Bhubaneswar to check criminal activities.
Drones will be deployed in Bhubaneswar to monitor the city from the skies. They will make it easier for the police to keep an eye on street crimes.
The Special Protection Group (SPG) has provided the Bhubaneswar Urban Police Department (UPD) with high-performing drones that can fly up to 5 km in the sky. The drones can detect movement up to five kilometers.
According to the report, these drones shall monitor large rallies, law and order situations, and VIP movements. The drones will have night vision cameras that can take high-resolution pictures. The police hope that after the deployment of these drones, crime can be prevented.
Drones will be deployed in Bhubaneswar for patrolling during Assembly sessions, rallies, international events, festivals, VVIP tours, etc. Initially, one drone will be deployed and the number will be increased later,” Bhubaneswar DCP Prateek Singh said.
