Bargarh: An elderly man is suspected to have died of heat stroke in the Attabira area of Bargarh district today. Bargarh has been reeling under heat wave conditions over the last few days with maximum temperature shooting up to 42°Celsius.
According to reports, on being informed of an elderly man lying in critical condition in farmland near Parmanpur in the afternoon Attabira police with the help of 108 Ambulance Service rushed the elderly man to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Attabira.
However, attending doctors at the CHC declared the elderly man dead.
The identity of the deceased elderly man has not been established yet.
While the exact reason for the death of the old man has not been ascertained, it is suspected to be due to heat stroke.
Police after preparing an inquest report have sent the body to the district headquarters hospital here for autopsy.
