Sambalpur: PVC Pipes worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a raging fire in a pipe warehouse in Maneshwar block under Gunderpur in Odisha’s Sambalpur on Monday.
The fire was reported at 9.00 am. On being informed, Fire Services personnel rushed to the warehouse and struggled to bring the fire under control. However, a huge stock of PVC pipes stored in the warehouse were destroyed before the fire could be brought under control.
Huge black smoke was seen billowing out of the warehouse creating panic in the area. A pungent smell engulfed the area soon. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
