Bhubaneswar: In the Union Public Service Commission examinations, results of which were announced on Tuesday, Anup Das is the topper from Odisha with an all-India rank (AIR) of 38.
Anup is followed by Pranati Dash and Kasturi Panda, who secured 42nd and 67th ranks respectively, standing second and third respectively in the State.
At least 18 candidates from the state cracked the examination. Tejaswini Behera, who had secured the top rank in Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Examination, featured at 516 positions on the list.
Soumya Ranjan Dash (136), Sonali Misha (140), Durga Prasad Adhikary (162), Laxmipriya Upadhyaya (176), Sushree Suvangi Khuntia (248), Aakriti Sethi (249), Satya Prakash Mishra (261), Ayushi Pradhan (334), Tejaswini Behera (516), Rakesh Kumar Sahoo (575), Suvasnnigdha Sethi (680), Subham Mishra (688), Nivedita Das (848), Manas Jyoti Das (881) and Hare Krishna Meher (931) are also among the 933 candidates recommended for appointment to the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Foreign Service, Indian Police Service and Central Services Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’.
How many marks the candidates have secured in the exams will be announced after 15 days.
On the other hand, Ishita Kishore has topped the Union Public Service Commission examinations in the country. Interestingly, all the top four ranks in the examination have been bagged by women.
As per UPSC, this time, a total of 933 candidates have been recommended for appointment, of which 183 are chosen as IAS officers. Of the 933, 345 are from general category, 99 from Economic Weaker Sections, 263 from OBC, 154 from Scheduled Caste and 72 from Scheduled Tribe category.
