Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today approved nine new posts for the newly constituted Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) comprising of Laikera and Kirimira blocks of Jharsuguda district.
All villages under Laikera and Kirimira blocks will be under the jurisdiction of this ITDA.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has given his approval to these new posts. The Chief Minister has expressed hope that this will accelerate the pace of development and welfare of tribals in these two blocks.
The new posts approved by the Chief Minister included one project administrator, one special officer, one assistant executive engineer, one assistant engineer, one accountant, one head clerk, one junior stenographer, one senior clerk and one junior clerk.
While mainly Gond, Bhuyan and Kissan tribes live in Laikera and Kirimira blocks, Mundas, Kolha, Oraon, Sabara, Kharia and Sara tribes also reside in these two blocks.
Tribals comprise 51.78% of Laikera population while in Kirmera it is 18.46%.
