Bhubaneswar: On the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian visited Harekrushna Mahatab State Library in Bhubaneswar today. He discussed with the students about their facilities and difficulties at the library.
Harekrushna Mahatab State Library is one of the premier libraries of the State and every day hundreds of students and youngsters preparing for various competitive exams and common people come here for studying.
As the library has become old, it will be restored and the benches, tables and other furniture will be renewed along with the flooring and various civil structures will also be improved.
In addition, the books will be kept in a modern way and the entire library will be air-conditioned. The new building on the premises of the library will be equipped with furniture and air-conditioning, and steps will be taken to facilitate the study of more students and the public.
Landscaping of the library courtyard will be done. Along with this, a food court will be opened for students and public coming to the library and a cafeteria will also be made by Mission Shakti. Food center will be opened for the convenience of these students.
As the students coming to the library are mainly preparing for various competitive exams, enough competitive magazines will be kept in the library and the entire library will be managed through IT Enabled Smart Management.
Apart from this, Motivational Talks will also be organized regularly by personalities who have achieved success in various fields for Career Counselling. It will be helpful for students preparing for various competitive exams.
Wi-Fi facility will be made available in the campus. A public library will be opened in Bapuji Nagar to reduce crowding in the State library.
This program will be implemented by Odisha Mining Corporation in 5 phases. Senior officials, including Managing Director of OMC, Director of Culture Department and others were present during the visit of the 5T Secretary.
