Dhenkanal: The carcass of an elephant was recovered from the premises of a farmhouse in Borapada Khamar village under the Dhenkanal Sadar range of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Thursday night.
The elephant is said to be 15 years old and lived near the farmhouse.
On being informed, Forrest officials from Dhenkanal Sadar range reached the spot and started an investigation.
While primary investigation suggests that the elephant died due to electrocution, Forest Department officials said that the exact reason for the animal’s death can be ascertained after the arrival of the post-mortem report.
