Malkangiri: An under trial prisoner allegedly committed suicide inside the Malkangiri Sub Jail today.
The deceased under trial prisoner has been identified as Bidhan Mirdha. Mirdha was a resident of MV 33 village. He and his second wife were lodged in the Malkangiri Sub Jail and were facing trial in a murder case.
Mirdha’s family members have alleged that it was not a case of suicide and he has been murdered. They have demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.
While Mirdha’s body has been sent for post-mortem, CCTV footage of the jail has been seized by the police for further investigation of the matter.
