Bhubaneswar: On the second day of his Keonjhar district, 5T Secretary VK Pandian on Sunday visited various places under Ghatgaon, Harichandanpur, Bhashanpal, Hatdihi, Keonjhar, and Anandpur municipalities and reviewed the progress of development work and reviewed many projects.
Pandian, who is visiting Keonjhar district on the instruction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, visited various spiritual places and held discussions on the improvement of these places and heard complaints from the local people.
The 5T Secretary held talks with Mission Shakti SHG members, farmers, intellectuals and members of various organisations.
On Sunday, he first visited Siddha Math under Keonjhar municipality and went to Deka Devi temple. On this occasion, he held discussions with the temple committee members, worshipers, and local people regarding the development of Siddha Math and adjoining areas.
Pandian then went to Dharnidhar Sports Complex in Shankarpur and visited the new constructions like the football ground, athletic ground, indoor badminton court, archery ground, and indoor gym, and interacted with the players present. The 5T Secretary expressed his satisfaction after learning that everyone is getting good quality training. He advised the District Collector to speed up the plantation work on the campus.
From there, the 5T Secretary visited Ghatgaon where he went to Mother Tardhana’s Peetha and prayed for her blessings. He then addressed a large gathering of farmers, Mission Shakti women, and local people at the local mini stadium. On this occasion, he reminisced about his old work life. He narrated how he got his first posting in Keonjhar district after joining the Odisha cadre and how he first came to see Mother Tardhana. He said that Maa Tardina’s Peetha will be developed in Ghatgaon like Puri Shrimandir, Tara Tardhana, and Samlei Peetha.
The area around the Gundichaghagi waterfall will also be improved. The infrastructure will be built keeping in view the next 500 years and will be completed within six months of the commencement of work. For this, he sought the cooperation of the local people.
Later, Pandian visited Gonasika Abhimukh under the Bhashanpal block and went to the Education Department working under the SC, ST Development Department, and the Girls High School under it. He was happy to see changes in the school and held discussions with the children. The 5T Secretary announced that two new courses will be started in this school soon.
Later, Pandian visited the headwaters of the Baitarani River and Guptaganga and discussed with the officials present regarding their development. He advised the District Collector to prepare a detailed project report (DPR).
From there, the 5T Secretary visited the famous Shiv Peetha Brameshwar temple and offer prayers there. He surveyed the development work of the temple and surrounding areas. Pandian also addressed a gathering of farmers, Mission Shakti members, and the local people there. He assured the people that he would bring all the demands of the local residents to the notice of the Chief Minister and they will be fulfilled on the basis of the official rules and regulations.
From there, Pandian went to Kusumoyodi under Harichandanpur block and visited the local women farmers’ market. He was happy to see how women farmers have benefited through the Agricultural Production Cluster (APC) programme and assured that the state government is always ready to support them. After that, went to the Tasar Silk Park Abhimukh in Baghamunda where he saw how the women made various products from tasar silk using various machines. The 5T Secretaries said that the state government will provide support for the branding and marketing of all the products produced by the center. On this occasion, he said that according to the demands of the local people, the development work of Sitabinji Temple will also be taken up.
Continuing his programme, the 5T secretary reached Sundarpal under the Hatdihi block and engaged in conversations with a large gathering of women, farmers, and people of various castes. Pandian said that the state government is committed to the welfare of the people and solving the problems of farmers is the priority of the government. He then visited the ongoing water treatment plant at Sangam for rural drinking water supply and reviewed the progress of the mega pipe water supply project.
Later, he visited the Anandpur barrage site and reviewed the ongoing work. He was briefed about the ongoing canal work which will provide irrigation potential to around 60,000 hectares in Keonjhar and Balasore districts.
