Bhubaneswar: With no respite from the severe heat wave condition sizzling Odisha, the maximum temperature (day temperature) continued to soar rapidly across the state. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the highest day temperature could be recorded within 6.5°C or above the normal temperature on Monday.
Jharsuguda in western Odisha was the hottest place in the state at 8.30 am on Monday at 37.2°C, followed closely by Sambalpur at 36.6°C.
The temperatures recorded at other locations in the state at 8.30 am are as below:
- Hirakud: 35.4°C
- Bhubaneswar: 35°C
- Keonjhar: 35°C
- Puri: 34.6°C
- Balasore: 34.2°C
- Chandbali: 34°C
- Paradip: 32.4°C
- Gopalpur: 32.4°C
Meanwhile, the humidity level also rose further today making the weather intolerable, to say the least. In fact, normal life in many places of the state was severely affected by the soaring day temperature and high humidity levels.
The humidity levels recorded at different places in Odisha at 8.30 am are as below:
- Paradip: 83%
- Chandbali: 80%
- Gopalpur: 79%
- Puri: 76%
- Balasore: 71%
- Bhubaneswar: 65%
- Hirakud: 49%
- Keonjhar: 44%
- Sambalpur: 41%
- Jharsuguda: 33%
