Technician Electrocuted While Installing CCTV For Rath Yatra In Puri

Puri: A technician died due to electrocution in on Thursday while installing CCTV cameras for the ensuing Rath Yatra festival in Odisha’s Puri district.

The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Nayak.

According to reports, the incident occurred when Rakesh climbed a pole to install a CCTV in Puri town today. While connecting the CCTV with the integrated control room which controls all the CCTVs in the town, he pulled a wire that came in contact with a live wire. Rakesh immediately fell to the ground and was in an unconscious state.

Locals and colleagues rushed him to the Puri Badaktarkhana where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.

Rakesh was engaged by a contractor who was awarded the job by the Police Housing Corporation.
