IMD Warns Of Severe Heat Wave Conditions In Some Parts Of Odisha During Next 4 Days

Bhubaneswar: Heat wave to severe heat wave conditions is likely to prevail in some parts of Odisha during the next 3-4 days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued ‘Orange’ and ‘Yellow’ alerts warning of severe heat wave and heat wave over several districts.

The IMD has said that maximum temperature is very likely to be above normal by 4-7°Celsius at a few places over the districts of Odisha during next 3 days. Consequently, hot and discomfort weather is likely during the next 3-4 days and people are advised to take precautionary measures (avoid heat exposure, keep cool and avoid dehydration) while going outside during day time between 1100 IST-1500 IST, it added.

Here’s IMD’s Heat Wave Warning for the next 4 days:

Day-1(17.06.2023)

Orange warning (Be Prepared) Heat wave to severe Heat wave conditions very likely to prevail at many places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Bolangir, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Kandhamal.

Yellow warning (Be updated) Heat wave conditions likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Jajpur.

Day-2(18.06.2023)

Orange warning (Be Prepared) Heat wave to severe Heat wave conditions is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Angul Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda, Bolangir.

Yellow warning (Be updated) Heat wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, and Nuapada.

Day-3(19.06.2023)

Orange warning (Be Prepared) Heat wave to severe Heat wave conditions is very likely to prevail at a few places over the districts of Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, and Bolangir.

Yellow warning (Be updated) Heat wave condition likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Nuapada, Nayagarh, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Kandhamal, Deogarh, Angul, Keonjhar.

Day-4 (20.06.2023)

Orange warning (Be Prepared) Heat wave to severe Heat wave conditions is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh.
