Bhubaneswar: Nandighosa and Darpadalana – the chariots of Lord Jagannath and Devi Subhadra respectively reached Saradha Bali in front of the Gundicha Temple on Wednesday, while Taladhwaja, the chariot of Lord Balabhadra, had already reached Saradha Bali on Tuesday evening.
For the time being, the Holy Trinity of Puri’s Srimandir will remain on their respective chariots and will be taken to the Adapa Mandapa of the Gundicha Temple in the Pahandi ritual on Thursday evening.
It is worth mentioning here that Nandighosha and Darpadalana were halted at Galagandi and Badasankha, respectively on the way to Gundicha temple on Tuesday as it was dusk, while Taladhwaja had reached the temple on time. Pulling of the two chariots – Nandighosa and Darpadalana resumed on Wednesday morning.
The Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath and His sibling deities Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra commenced a little after 3.00 pm on Tuesday after the ‘Pahandi Bije’ and ‘Cherra Pahanra’ rituals.
Taladhwaja of Lord Balabhadra was pulled first, followed by Darpadalana of Devi Subhadra and Nandighosa of Lord Jagannath.
