Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Prasant Rout, Additional Sub Collector of Nabarangpur on charges of possessing disproportionate assets to his known sources of income.
According to Vigilance, Rout’s assets run into several crore rupees, which includes Rs 3 crore in cash, which was recovered from his house during a raid on Friday.
He allegedly owns five plots, two expensive cars, benami properties and several bank accounts which could not be accounted for. His assets were valued at 500 times more than his legal income as a Government servant.
