Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, a crocodile dragged an elderly man into the Bramhani River here when he had gone there for a bath. The incident has been reported from Ghagaradia village under Pattamundi police limits in Odisha’s Kendrapara district.
The victim has been identified as Gangadhar Tarai, a resident of Ghagaradia village.
On being informed, police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and launched a search operation in the river. However, till the time of filing this report, they are yet to trace the whereabouts of the missing person.
Incidentally, this is the third such incident in the region in a month. Earlier, a woman was killed by a crocodile in a pond in Hatiagadi village under Rajanagar block of the district. Sometime back, a minor boy from Nimpur village under Pattamundai police limits was dragged into the Bramhani River when he had gone to the river bank with his mother for a bath.
