Puri: Nakula Bhoi, a servitor of Puri Srimandir, who had sustained severe injuries during the recently concluded Ratha Yatra died while undergoing treatment at AIIMS here on Thursday.
According to reports, a portion of the rope of Lord Balabhadra’s Taladhwaja chariot snapped on the day of Bahuda Yatra injuring Nakula Bhoi.
Initially, the servitor was rushed to the Puri District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) and later shifted to AIIMS in Bhubaneswar as his condition deteriorated.
Nakula succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the healthcare facility on Thursday morning.
As the news of Nakula’s demise spread, a pall of gloom descended on the servitor fraternity in Puri.
