Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the development plan of Berhampur’s famous Maa Budhi Thakurani temple. The temple will get a new transformed look under in 5T initiative. The work will be undertaken in two phases at an expense of Rs 18.91 crore, said an official press release.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has ordered to complete the work within the stipulated time.
Maa Budhi Thakurani is the presiding deity of Berhampur and the temple is famous not only in Odisha but also in neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.
Many devotees from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh come to worship Maa Budhi Thakurani every day. The state government has prepared a comprehensive development plan for the beautification of the temple for the convenience of the devotees. The temple will be beautified in Kalingan architecture style with a Yajna Kund, temple office building, boundary wall, garden, beautified entrance etc.
Similarly, for the convenience of the devotees and visitors, a hands and feet wash point and an auditorium, etc will be constructed. In addition to this, a hall will be constructed which can be used for various functions. The plan also includes the construction of a room for the priests, a temple kitchen and a Bhoga Mandapa. Lighting arrangements will be made which will make the temple will more beautiful and attractive.
Steps will be taken up for the development of the approach road to the Budhi Thakurani Temple, parking place, toilets, landscaping and tree planting.
It is worth mentioning here that on the direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, 5T Secretary VK Pandian had recently visited Maa Budhi Thakurani’s temple and discussed the development of the temple with the local community, people’s representatives and the district administration.
