Keonjhar: At least 15 people sustained injuries and three among them critical after a bus they were travelling was hit by a truck at Satkosia ghat on Karanjia – Anandpur road here.
The injured persons were rushed to the local hospital in Anandpur for treatment while Mahuladiha police arrived at the spot to probe into the mishap which took place at around 1:30 am on Tuesday.
Reports stated that the bus carrying about 30 passengers was hit from behind by a rice-laden truck on the ghat road and the passenger vehicle plunged 30 feet into a gorge. The truck also met the same fate.
Commuters, local police and fire service personnel rescued the injured and shifted them to the hospital while the three critically wounded passengers have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
