Jharsuguda: Sacked police SI Gopal Das was produced in the Jharsuguda JMFC court on Thursday in connection with the former Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das murder case. Gopal Das is the prime accused in the case.
Police brought Das to Jharsuguda from Choudar Jail in Cuttack under tight security on Wednesday.
The JMFC court transferred the case to District & Sessions Judge Court, Jharsuguda. The trial of the case will start next month, public prosecutor Melanidhi Chand said.
The Crime Branch submitted the 543-page preliminary chargesheet in Jharsuguda JMFC Court in the Naba Das murder case on May 26. The agency had prepared the chargesheet based on the statements of 89 witnesses including IO Ramesh Dora, DSP of the Crime Branch, and reports of the scientific team against dismissed ASI accused Gopal Das.
It is worth mentioning here that Naba Kishore Das was gunned down by Gopal Das on January 29 this year when the former had come to Jharsuguda in connection with a programme at Gahndi Chhak here.
