Govt & Aided High School Students In Odisha To Learn IT And Coding

Bhubaneswar: Students of government and government-aided high schools of Odisha will be soon learning Information Technology (IT) and coding through ‘Koushali’ school club.

Training of trainers who will be imparting training to students has been started at the state level. Three-day training of Master Trainers starting from Thursday is underway at three high schools-Unit VII Government Boys’ High School, Unit VIII Government Girls’ High School and Syed Mamtaj Ali High School here, said an official press release.

As many as 89 Science teachers from block level have taken part in this training programme. IT experts are imparting training to the trainees. This programme is being conducted by ‘Mo School’ under the School & Mass Education Department.

The aspirational curriculum is being introduced in schools through school clubs. Four school clubs (Kridangan, Kousali, Sahitya Srujani, Jigyansa) are being newly introduced in the curriculum. To manage it successfully, master trainers are now being trained at the state level.

Training for Kridangan Club has been completed last week. Now training for Kousali Club has commenced. There is a programme to train one teacher from each block in a phased manner. Later, the master trainers will train the teachers at the block level.

‘Mo School’ is conducting this training programme in partnership with various institutions working at the national level.  The Education department is giving special importance to such a new curriculum based on the needs of the students for Information Technology and coding education as per the demands of the times.
