Wet Spell To Continue In Odisha For Next 5 Days, Heavy To Very Heavy Rainfall Forecast At Places

Bhubaneswar: With the Southwest monsoon remaining active over Odisha wet spell is very likely to continue in the State with heavy to very heavy rainfall at some places during the next five days, according to the midday bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Further, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the Northwest Bay of Bengal within 48 hours, the IMD added.

Here’s the IMD’s weather forecast and warning for the districts of Odisha for the next five days.

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 18.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at many places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) 1)Heavy to very heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nawarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, and Bolangir.

2)Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Boudh, Sonepur, Angul, Deogarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, and Sundargarh.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 18.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 19.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of South Interior Odisha and at many places over the rest districts of Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, and Puri.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 19.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 20.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts of Coastal Odisha and at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangapur, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, and Cuttack.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 20.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) 1)Heavy to very heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Kandhamal. 2)Heavy Rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khurda, Nayagarh, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Sonepur, Bolangir, Bargarh, and Kalahandi.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 21.07.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 22.07.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at most places over the districts Odisha.

YELLOW WARNING:-(BE UPDATED) 1)Heavy to very heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Puri, Angul, Jajpur, Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh. 2)Heavy Rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, and Nawarangapur.
