Bhubaneswar: The regional Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday predicted moderate rain/thundershower with lightning and one or two intense/heavy spell of rain is likely to affect some areas of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Khurda (Including Bhubaneswar), Puri, Sonepur, Deogarh, Kendrapara and Jajpur districts within the next three hours.
The weather office has also warned of the likelihood of water logging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility, and traffic disruption in the urban areas, and advised people to avoid movement in the affected area and make arrangements for drainage of excess water. People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect themselves from lightning strikes.
