Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday deployed senior engineers of DoWR to monitor and oversee floods in the Mahanadi river system.
In addition, 8 NDRF teams, 13 ODRAF teams, and 85 Fire Services teams have also been deployed in 15 districts, including Bhadrak, Jajpur, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Sonepur, Boudh, Kandhamal, Balasore, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapada for search and rescue operations.
The government has also deployed 62 Fire & Emergency Services teams with boats in Kendrapada (10), Cuttack Sadar (10), Athagarh (8), Jagatsinghpur (9), Khurda (5), Nayagarh (8) and Puri (12) to assist the district administrations.
The following teams are mobilised to carry out flood relief in the places indicated below. The teams should carry the necessary equipment with them. The team leaders should report periodically to the Control Room and Chief Fire Officer, Odisha, Cuttack, on activities being undertaken and request further mobilisaton of team/equipment necessary.
They will return to their concerned station only after informing the Chief Fire Officer, Odisha, a notification issued by Ramesh Chandra Manjhi, Chief Fire Officer, Odisha, Cuttack, read.
