Puri: The Banakalagi Niti of the sibiling deities, which will resume in the 12th-century shrine after a brief hiatus, will cause the Jagannath Temple, to be off-limits to pilgrims for five hours beginning at 6 pm on Wednesday.

The second Bhoga Mandap ceremony will conclude after the special ritual, which will be performed from 6 pm to 11 pm, according to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).

‘Kasturi’, ‘Harital’, ‘Karpura’, ‘Kesar’, ‘Kalasankha’, and ‘Dhalasankha’ are used to perform Banakalagi. The darshan of the Gods is not permitted during the rite.

The Banakalagi ritual was disrupted and was conducted since Niladri Bije (June 1), when the Holy Triad and weapon God Lord Sudarsana returned to the sanctum sanctorum after the annual Rath Yatra, following a dispute between the servitors of Dutta Mohapatra Nijog and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
