IMD Predicts Rain, Thundershower Over 12 Odisha Dists During Next 24 Hrs

Bhubaneswar: Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha over the next 24 hours, according to Thursday’s midday weather bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Southwest Monsoon has been subdued over Odisha, the IMD said.

The sky in Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood will remain partly cloudy with the possibility of moderate rain or thundershower during the next 24 hours, the weather agency’s bulletin said.

Here is the IMD’s weather forecast and warning for districts of Odisha for next five days:

Day 1 (Valid up to 0830 hrs IST of 11.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Gajapati and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 11.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 12.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at many places over the districts of North Interior Odisha and at a few places over the rest districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Khurda, Puri, and Nayagarh.

Day 3 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 12.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 13.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning (Be updated) Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, and Kandhamal.

Day 4 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 13.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 14.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 0830 hrs IST of 14.08.2023 to 0830 hrs IST of 15.08.2023)

Light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Odisha.
