Balasore: The Forest department busted a major racket in the trade of venomous snake poison in the Panchapalli area of Odisha’s Balasore district on Wednesday.
According to reports, acting on a tip-off, Forest Department personnel raided the Nua village under Baliapal police limits in Balasore Forest Division and seized more than 20 venomous snakes, and arrested three persons, including a woman, in connection with the racket. The snakes were recovered from a couple residing in the Panchapalli area.
Interestingly, the racket was operating from a place close to the Longswar forest office.
The Forest Department officials are now interrogating the arrested for more information regarding the illegal business of snake poison.
