One Killed, 5 Others Injured In Illegal Quarry Blast In Balasore

Soro (Balasore): At least a worker was killed and another five were critically injured on Wednesday after boulders came crashing on them during illegal quarrying at the Khanjamahal Bagudi stone quarry under Mahumuhan panchayat in Balasore district.

The five injured workers were immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre here. They were shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack following a deterioration in their health condition.

The deceased worker’s identity has not been established.

On being informed Soro Tahasildar, Police and Fire Service personnel rushed to the spot and took part in the rescue operation.
