Bhubaneswar: A low pressure area has formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and its adjacent areas under the influence of an active cyclonic circulation over northwest Bay of Bengal, the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar said in a tweet.
The cyclonic circulation associated with this low pressure extends 7.6 km in the atmosphere from sea level, the tweet added.
Under the influence of the system, heavy rainfall is likely to occur at several places of Odisha.
As per the information shared by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, by 5.30 PM today 78 mm rainfall has been recorded at Khordha, 67.8 mm at Keonjhar, 62.2 mm at Puri, 56.2 mm at Bhubaneswar, 56.2 mm at Titlagarh, 54 mm at Nabarangpur, and 41.6 mm at Balasore.
