Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today named the bridge built over river Brahmani at Kaniha in Angul district as ‘Pabitra Mohan Setu’ in the memory of eminent freedom fighter, leader of Prajamandal and former Deputy Chief Minister of the State Late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan.
The proposal was approved by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
It is worth mentioning here that on July 11 while 5T Secretary VK Pandian was on a visit to Talcher, public had requested to name the bridge built over Brahmani river in Late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan’s name.
Accordingly, the State government has named this bridge in the name of one of Prajamandal movement’s tallest leaders former Deputy Chief Minister Late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan.
It is pertinent to mention here that this 511-metre-long bridge which connects Shiling with Talpada road has been built at a cost of Rs 45.79 crore.
