Bhubaneswar: During the 5T Secretary’s visit to Puri and Nayagarh districts on the instructions of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, various complaints were received from the public. After 5T Secretary V K Pandian informed the Chief Minister in this connection, a detailed discussion was held today in this regard by the Chief Minister’s office and a decision was taken.
According to an official press release, during 5T Secretary’s visit, the general public had drawn his attention to the land issues of Puri Municipality. At the meeting, it was decided in principle to regularize the leases given by Puri Municipality in conformity with municipal rules and suitable lease terms.
The District Collector has been directed to complete the work within the stipulated period. The 5T Secretary directed to complete the necessary survey work within 20 days. It was decided in the meeting to provide necessary additional Revenue Officers to the District Collector for this.
Puri Municipality has leased about 504 acres of land to various institutions and people for many years. In this high-level meeting, it was decided to fix appropriate charges on individuals and institutions for the regularization of leases allocated as per appropriate lease terms and municipal rules.
The meeting also discussed the construction of a reservoir on the Brutanga River near Manjari village in Nayagarh district. It was decided at the meeting to immediately invite tenders after obtaining the environment and other clearances.
Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue & Disaster Management Department Satyabrat Sahu and other senior officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
