New Delhi: Two men, evading arrest for last 22 years in a kidnapping and rape case registered in south Delhi, have been arrested from Uttar Pradesh, a Delhi Police official said on Tuesday.
The accused were identified as Mohd. Ameen (51) and Mohd. Mobin a.k.a Cheddu (39), both residents of UP’s Fatehpur district.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, South, Chandan Chowdhary said that a specific information was received that two declared ‘Proclaimed Offenders’ were residing at district Fatehpur.
“Hence, the information was further developed and local enquiry of the area was conducted. More details about the proclaimed offenders were collected and as per input, the team laid a trap at village Sangaon near Fatehpur and duo accused was nabbed,” she said.
The DCP further said that both the accused were absconding and declared proclaimed offenders in a order by the Saket court on September 18, 2002 by Saket Court in connection with a kidnapping and rape case registered at Hauz Khas police station.
